Using model ship materials like wood glue and pins stick the false deck to the bulkheads. Once the false deck is firmly in place, mark and cut out the openings, previously marked for the masts, hatches, gratings and companion ways. After giving everything a good sanding, it is time to start masking. I dont want to get any paint on the deck, because well be staining that. The outer hull, waterways and bulwarks will end up being different colors, but they all need primer. So Ill start by masking off the deck, and spraying everything with primer.

The ship kits contain the pieces needed to complete the hull and superstructure. This typically includes a fiberglass hull, decks, prop shaft s , rudder s , styrene deck sections, foam and balsa superstructure pieces, scale plans, turret covers, and instructions. It is enough to get you to a nice-looking, but not functional, model ship.
This was for I believe a model constructed of the original Brilliant. Mr. Hahn did pull the British dn conversion plans for his hull model plans and I have no idea if rigging ones also exist. Since it is a Frankenstein ship a little it of this, a little bit of that I am not too concerned about exact accuracy, if that is possible at all.

My last model ship is the 1/350 IJN Yamato, I first assemble all the decks using cement to the hull first, nearly finish assembling all the structures on the decks, before airbrushing the decks, i masked all the anti aircraft gun positions, superstructures, etc which i had finished.
